Addon Airports - Still snowy

#1 Post by disco79stu » Wed Dec 29, 2021 1:35 pm

Hi,

I added a couple of my add on airports and even after 24h, there's still snow showing on them.
What am I missing here?

Thanks

Hi,
For high-quality 3rd party airport addon, unfortunately, they already integrated snow definition based on the flight simulator's default (wrong) seasons so adding that kind of airport inside the Season Manager can't eliminate the snow and fix the problem. It only adds some snow margin to the airport so you don't have a fully snowy airport in the middle of the non-snowy area.

Okay, thanks for the explanation. I'll try to deal with those another way then... :)

As for the snow areas in general, I find the map a bit inaccurate in some cases. I'm not talking about like the field behind my house where it suddenly snowed over night :D ... but for example the area around Nice, South France has been covered in snow for over a week where local temperatures showed 15+ deg OAT. That felt a bit off flying to sunny Cote Azure and landing in snow... ;)
Is this just something we have to expect/accept?
