SODE Seasons

#1 Post by Patrick Chaieb » Sat Nov 02, 2019 2:03 pm

Hi

I highly would like to try your season Manager. How does it work with Sode Season based addon airports? I.e. Moscow now shows snow without the season Manager. DD UUEEv2 also shows snow. I can imagine, that installing your season Manager will „delete“ the snow in Moscow but UUEE still shows snow because it handels its season after SODE?

Is that correct?
Kind Regards
Patrick

Dear Patrick,
Our Season Manager program adds two entries in your flight simulator Scenery Library, one for our Live daily seasons and another one for your Manual created seasons. It actually shows a new season layer with higher priority than your flight simulator seasons and there is a link inside program that you can unload our seasons and let you back to your flight simulator default seasons.
You can see our daily live Snow coverage from this address and wherever you see Snow in that image, you will have it in your flight simulator:
https://simelite.com/seasonmap/

In some photo real scenery airports because they defined their own seasons and integrated that with their scenery, our season manager can't override their seasons but as you know most of the time you are using your flight simulator and you are in a flight, you are in cruising mode on high altitude so %99.9 of flight simulator scenery you can see in your flights already fixed with our season manager Live seasons and if there is a very small photo real airport on the ground, it won't be a big deal at all and when you land at a photo real airport, you can see their defined Seasons just like before.

About SODE airports if you want to see how they work with our Season Manager, you can try it yourself. Go to your control panel on our website, activate your 24 hours free trial subscription with a simple click, check it out and let us know the result. If you need more time to check different things then send us an email (info@simelite.com) and we can extend your trial subscription for couple of days.

Hi

So I installed them but Moscow seems to look a bit strange. There is much less snow then without your Program, but I don't think that it should look like this?

Patrick

Dear Partick,
Thanks for letting us know the result.
In Real world when temperature is not very low, snow never covers the whole country or a city at once. It is possible one night snow falls from sky when temperature is lower and next day when temperature goes high some of the snow melted.
Have you ever used Windy.com website? It is a great website showing all weather information with understandable colors and graphic.
At the moment (3rd of November) temperature in Moscow is +5 so despite it was snowy yesterday but earth is not fully covered by snow. You can see Snow depth in Moscow from this image:
Image
(Blue is Snow coverage and Gray is not Snowy)

As I mentioned before, we use live weather data (Not from Windy) to create Live Seasons so if you look at the latest Snow coverage image from our website:
https://simelite.com/seasonmap/
you can see Moscow and Russia is not fully covered with snow at the moment and if you fly over the Moscow at the time (In Real World) you can see what you now have in your flight simulator and when snow really covers Moscow in next few weeks then you will have it in your flight simulator. ;)
I know because most of people are using default flight simulator Seasons for years then they expect to have full Snow coverage for months but in real world it is not like that. That's why we created Snow Manager! :D

By the way, have you checked your Airport to see if it change with our Seasons? You can do it by create a Manual Season (for Example Summer) that fully covers the airport and surrounding area and then check if your airport is showing Snow coverage or the Season you made manually.

Best Regards
